Specialized Seam Welder

It is widely used for welding containers, tubes as well as heat collecting plates. Welding of a fuel tank, a container, a transistor for which air-tightness is needed or tube-shaped objects such as a pipe or a funnel includes a technique as if sewing plates together. In such applications, inserting the welding object between disc-shaped electrodes and energizing those electrode rings while rotating results in a continuous spot welding, which is called as seam welding. This welding technique has been employed in “tailored blanks” in recent years to weld plates with different thicknesses or materials before they will be processed.
